Get Your Web Site Off Death Row

When a company marketer says, “We don’t have anything new to publish.” it’s pretty much a death sentence for the web site.  Businesses that are actually involved with meeting the needs of their customers, that take the time to learn pain points and solutions, that innovate, that participate in their industry or community, have plenty of reasons and content to publish.

In addition to the ideas listed above, here are two quick tips for developing new content for your web site or blog…

1. Throughout the day you are always thinking about something. Write down what you’ve been thinking about. That’s your content! As long as you have thoughts, you’ll have new articles to post.

2. Read a few pages from a book… if you’re like most people, your mind will wonder off into your own little world of ideas. Write them down as bullet points and turn them into a new post!

BONUS TIP: Don’t be concerned about the length of your posts… especially if you are worried that your posts are too short. Focus more on clarity and value.

Focus NOT On Social Media ROI

As I look at these statistics, the chart doesn’t surprise me. I think there’s a very clear reason why so many marketers aren’t measuring their social media ROI…

These marketers are focused on where they want to be in the future. They are building what they consider to be a “digital asset.”

So, for now, they give everything (or almost everything) away for FREE in hopes of building a web presence… a following.

ROI takes a back seat… The primary focus is on creating great content and “recruiting”.
