<description>Every one of these tips is highly applicable to both sales and job seekers.

These should be &quot;tattooed&quot; on every business person&#039;s forearm just before they go into the huddle for the next big play!

Thank you for these.

		<description>Hi Gary,

The number would have to gotten legitimately. Question, if their cell number is on their card, or left on their outbound voice mail, is that clean?

		<description>Hi Bill,

I would agree that SMS may not be the best approach, as I said, it was based on a comment from an executive. And I also agree that in sales we need to continue to innovate through trial and error. Like you said we have to keep pushing, discard what does not work, and refine things that do.

		<description>Tibor,
Would I object to receiving sales SMS calls? Yes

Should sales people consider this as a tool? Yes, but limited. I believe that text mail is still considered personal by most but maybe not all.

Try it out with close contacts first. Ask what they think.

For cold calls, limit it to a small sample that if you piss them off it may not matter in the big picture then resume a different tact. If nothing else, some of them you finally got their attention when other things didn&#039;t work. Like my youngest proves: sometimes &#039;negative attention is better than no attention at all&#039;.

Keep on Pushing it.

		<description>Tibor

Enjoyed your views on &quot;it&#039;s the message, not the medium.&quot; I especially resonate with what you said about effective, enticing and engaging - these principles are the essence of developing social capital and when it comes to sales, effective leaders in this space are fully aware of the value of growing and adapting to leverage whatever media is available to them.

To the thinkers go the spoils. If prospecting is being done within the bounds of those three principles: effective, enticing and engaging, it&#039;s highly unlikely that anyone is going to object. If not, then that is not a problem with the medium, it&#039;s a problem with the message. Yeah?
